Secret Six #14

Uploader Comments:
A kind of disappointing end to the Wonder Woman crossover with the Secret Six. Wonder woman is in the "disorientation chamber" at the new Devil's Island prison, and is threatened by Grendel, an actual devil who the prison warden hopes to keep in thrall. Later on, Wonder Woman shows up out of the blue and snaps Grendel's neck from behind. No explanation is given of how she got out of the disorientation chamber.

I was hoping to see Artemis and the other renegade Amazons bust in break Wonder Woman out of the disorientation room, just because it would be a fun way to turn the tables on Diana always being right and Artemis always being in the wrong. But, no.

On the other hand, the preceding issues had some of the best scenes in recent memory, so I guess I can't complain too much.

You are right about it being rather disappointing. Still, perhaps this will start a trend, of Diana actually losing a fight and getting KOed every once in a while!

The art work here is awesome! With one small exception it gets an A+++. The exception: invent a way to administer whatever treatment is being administered without covering her beautiful face --- we want to see it in its state of complete helplessness.

There's absolutely no good angle of her predicament. I don't mind the "gas mask," but the fact the face is never once shown before applying the mask makes the scene very zentai-ish, which isn't my cup of tea.

Also, the way she escapes this trap off screen without any explanation is just plain dumb.

The preceding Artemis scenes were infinitely better.
