Birds of Prey #34

Categories Arm CarryUnconscious

Personally, I think that this is a brilliant cover! Raz Al-Ghul is holding the limp body of Black Canary in his arms on the cover of Birds of Prey #34. A faceshot would have made this cover epic!

And she doesn't get knocked out in this issue. She does get KO'd in the next issue (35) which you can also find on this website.

I agree that this is a great picture; however does the inside story have a storyline that this picture matches, or is this another example of comic publishers "bait and switch"?

Also, as it has done since 1954, DC proudly displays the Comic Book Code on the cover indicating that this book is not "seducing the innocent". But I'm absolutely sure they would have never put out a cover like this in 1954,the year the Code came out. Obviously public and private attitudes have greatly mellowed. What a welcome relief!!

I love how limp her legs and feet are!

like the 'helpless' aspect of the picture. Especially the legs and 'tail' of the heroine. The implied promise of peril and domination is strong in the cover. Nice job.
