Lara has found an artifact of Thor which has great value and powers. However, a group of mercenaries is also after it and are threatening to shoot Lara. With her back turned to the mercenaries, she gets the gun butt to the back of her head. She wakes up, without the artifact and left for dead by the mercenaries.

I just realized how much this would have been the ultimate possibility to chloroform Lara Croft! Her back turned, hands in the air, no leverage whatsoever. Also chloroform would have most propably kept her out longer which would have meant succes for the mercenaries.
