The Black Cat's (the first one, the redhead) alter ego, Linda Turner a movie star, is on location in an old west desert location shooting a movie. A phantom murderer bursts ruthlessly onto the stage and with the help of two Indians, creates havoc. The Black Cat goes deep into the desert alone to investigate, she is spotted from a high bluff by the two Indians, who lasso her from above, hoist her up the side of the cliff, and she loud mouths them resulting in her being clubbed into senselessness. I love the way she fusses at her captors: though helpless, she demands "Set me free, or I'll . . ." To shut her up they knock the bejeebees out of her. She wakes up bound and stashed in an Indian hut hideaway. She manages to free herself and bring the bad guys to justice. Two pages and several enlargements help tell the story of this very sexy 40's superheroine, who we'd all like to see make a comeback.
