The cover of issue #5 clearly shows why Nyoka was never considered a great example of good girl art.
This cover shows her with skinny legs, flat chested, and without a very pretty face. Still, she looks a lot better on the inside stories. What made her great enough to run for 76 issues was her storywriting -- she appeared in one cliffhanger after the other, and most of her issues had 3-4 cliffhanger situations per story. In this issue she is manhandled, tied upside down over a vat of boiling cauldron. In another chapter her car goes over a cliff, and she jumps out and grabs a hold of a rock. She is finally rescued and faints in the arms of her male friend -- that explains the "carry scene".
