Judy of the Jungle first appeared in Exciting Comics with issue #55 where, sadly, she replaced Miss Masque (why couldn't they have given both a spot). Judy ran for 14 issues, making her last appearance in #69. During her reign, she often appeared on the cover with the great Alex (Xela) Shomberg doing the artwork.
In the story pictured below a nearby tribal chief has come to the conclusion that the deaths of several of his tribe's domestic pigs being raised for food is due to the local white ranger who is seen as a white devil. Actually, rogue leopards are killing the pigs, but the chief is not aware of that. He pretends that their pagan god Ubongo has spoken and revealed the white man to be the culprit. They begin to hunt for him. Judy becomes aware of their intentions and tries unsuccessfully to reason with them. They capture her and tie her up to keep her from interfering. She gets free and manages to convince the chief that the white man is not their enemy thus bringing peace to her little corner of the jungle once again.
