It is inspired by the Orleans Rumor. In the 1960's, a false story circulated in France: According to word of mouth, young women were being abducted from the fitting rooms of several clothing stores in the city, all of which were owned by Jews, for the purpose of prostituting them abroad as part of the white slave trade. It almost turned into a civil war in Orleans and none of it was true.
