Sheena Comic #7 was printed in the Summer of 1950. This is another great DID issue . . . in nearly every story in the book Sheena is captured and tortured. She is KO'd, hand gagged, manhandled, whipped in the face, and faints from battling wild beasts. She is also tied up in several episodes. While many of her other stories (in other issues) are not this exciting, #7 is one of her best. I particularly love the hand gag of her when she is already tied up and unable to resist . . . she kicks her legs high in her helpless struggle to resist (see Scene 15 below). This is jungle girl peril of the first order. Her enemies include an old dude in a sea captains uniform who is mean tempered and captures her pet chimp and refuses to give him back to Sheena. Another episode features a suit wearing, totally corrupt son of a tribal chief who returns to the jungle from a big city education to attempt to rob the natives of their gold. He whips Sheena in the face when she accuses him of his crime. Another enemy is a young woman who wants to become queen of her tribe and rule. She also gives Sheena a run for her money. Sheena ends up prevailing in all these stories (could it really be otherwise?) but only after much danger, peril and distress.
