Nyoka began appearing in Master Comics with issue #50 and she ran all the way to #129, about 5 1/2 years. After that time Fawcett gave her her own title and she ran in that series all the way from #1 to #77, another 6 years. She definitely was a very sellable comodity. In my opinion she was never as sexy looking as Sheena, Rulah, or Phantom Lady, but she had more KO's and bondage scenes than all three of those combined, and that makes her very special indeed. Her stories were at one time entitled "The Perils of Nyoka", and each issue had cliffhanger serial chapters putting her in 3-4 perilous scenes in every story. In this story, some Americans are exploring Africa and decide to explore a diamond mine owned by a tribe of natives. One of the Americans gets greedy and wants all the diamonds they find for himself. He deliberately lies to the natives telling them that Nyoka, their guide, will stir up the spirits of their ancestors and cause terrible misfortunes to happen. The duped natives attack Nyoka and the other Americans and try to offer them as sacrifices. Nyoka gets KO'd and tied up. She manages to escape and defeat the natives.
