Invaders #38-39

Categories Arm CarryFaint

The Invaders was a Marvel title from the late 70's where they tried to recreate the "Golden Age" feel of the books produced during WWII. The character of Golden Girl was changed from Captain America's sidekick Betty Dean to a Japanese-American teenager Gweney Lou Sabuki..who disappeared after a brief run..she did get one nice ko scene via a villian named U-Man and his leader, Lady Lotus.

a bit of background. Both Golden Girls exist in the Marvel Universe. Gwenny Lou had a daughter named Golden Sun and a grand-daughter named Goldfire. Goldfire appears in Thunderbolts and the Citizen V minis. No DiD scenes though.

Roy Thomas wrote the scripts for this entire 41 issue run. He practically stands alone in the years between the onset of the Comic Book Code (broadly displayed on the cover of this issue) and the mid to late 80's as a industry leader who saw the importance of gga/DID art and tested the code to the limit is story after story. Exciting cover pic as well as on the interior.
