The script writer for many of Nyoka's great stories is a question mark. An artist/writer named Rod Reed is often mentioned but usually with a question mark after his name. He is later credited with drawing the Cisco Kid and Rusty Riley in the 50's and 60's. Whoever wrote her stories, they consistently were DID to the max, and for me that makes them GREAT!! In this short 7 page episode in issue #93 of Master Comics, she is tied up, dropped into a vat of cauldron, saved, arm carried, grabbed and recaptured, tied up again, arm carried, and finally rescued a second time by male friend Larry. I know of no superheroine or jungle girl who has so much DID in 7 short pages, issue after issue. What a gift to all of us she is!! In this story some thugs she had arrested 6 years earlier in the states, get out of jail, and follow her to Africa, masquerade as tribesmen, track her, capture her, hang her up to die, she's rescued, and they go after her again, capture her, tie her hands and feet and arm carry her, stuff her in a sack, and finally are apprehended by male friend Larry for a second time. Peril and distress at its best and to the max. Thanks Rod Reed, or whoever you are, you know what we like.
Sorry about the microfiche, got these from GACD again.
Enjoy!!
