When Sheena appeared for the 52nd time in the July, 1943 issue of Jumbo, WWII was in its l8th month and the USA was totally engaged in the North Africa campaign. This issue clearly reflects the times -- the bad guy is a Nazi espionage agent looking for a British agent who has a "spy box" with extremely important war information in it. Trouble is, this British agent is traveling by small plane in Africa with his ten year old son (makes no sense, I know, but there you have it). And for some unexplained reason the British agent abandons his son in the wilds of Africa to go on a mission. The boy is hopelessly lost but Sheena and her mate Bob find him and take care of him. He promptly returns the favor by saving Sheena several times with a bow and arrow (what a boy!!) The Nazi agent recruits some natives to help him track down the British agent. In the course of that endeavor they grapple with Sheena, manhandle her, tie her up, torture her mate, and eventually locate the British agent who has returned from his side mission to look for his son. In the end the Nazi spy is killed, and the forces of peace and justice prevail. Sheena also is imperiled by some jungle animals, and the boy comes to the rescue each time. No KO's or unconscious pics here, but Sheena always looks good, in any situation -- in fact if she had ever entered the Miss Universe contest she would have been a shoo-in to win, hands down - - she's a perfect 10!! Enjoy!!
