Hey everyone! After weeks of tinkering, sketching, and coding, I’m beyond thrilled to unveil the shiny new version of Sleepycomics.com! If you were a fan of the old web app, buckle up—this upgrade takes everything you loved and cranks it up to eleven with a slew of fresh features, a slicker experience, and a whole lot more fun. A Fresh Start: Sign Up to Unlock the Fun (It’s Free!)
First things first—this new platform is all about keeping things safe and legal, especially since some of my artwork and clips are for the 18+ crowd. To view comics, artwork, and clips, you’ll need to register. Don’t worry—it’s totally free! Just hop over to the sign up page and use your Discord account to register. One quick step, and you’re in the club, ready to explore everything this site has to offer.
This fixes a long-standing problem on the old site, where registrations required manual approval. Things should be a lot easier now!
Note! If you already had an account on the old site, the credentials should still work (and you can still manually link your Discord account.) New sign ups going forward should use Discord.
Your Favorites, Streamlined and Supercharged
The old app had its charm, but the Sleepycomics.com V4 is a streamlined dream. Every scene—whether it’s a comic, artwork, or clip—can now be bookmarked (say hello to your new Favorites list!), commented on, and rated. Want to save that epic comic panel or leave a note on a clip? It’s all just a click away. This unified system brings everything together into one seamless experience, making it easier than ever to engage with the sleepy peril content you love.
One Platform to Rule Them All
Speaking of unity, I’ve fused artwork and clips into a single web platform—no more hopping between sections or apps. Comics, artwork, and clips now live side by side, beautifully integrated for your browsing pleasure. And here’s the kicker: users can now upload clips alongside comics! If you’ve got a cool clip to share, upload away.
Moderation That Packs a Punch
Keeping this community awesome takes a village, so I’ve beefed up the moderation system. I can now assign trusted users as moderators to help manage scenes. This means faster scene approvals, and more time for me to focus on creating. It’s a win-win—safer spaces for you, more art from me!
A UX Glow-Up
The old UX was… let’s call it “vintage.” The new design? It’s a full-on glow-up. Think smoother navigation, sharper visuals, and a layout that feels intuitive whether you’re on desktop or mobile. Every button, every page—it’s all been polished to make your time here as enjoyable as possible. I introduced a new image lightbox library that works amazingly on mobile.
