Wonder Woman in her Golden Age glory.

In this scene, Wonder Woman is doing some investigating. She finds a hidden door and goes through it. In the next panel, she is being chloroformed by some thug. In her thought bubble she thinks "Oohhh -- Chloroform ...", and then passes out. She is carried over the shoulder.

Great classic scene, and one of Wonder Woman's few comic book chloroform scenes.

The chloroform administration is good, but could be great if it was a whole body shot. Still I give it 3 stars. However, the over-the-shoulder carry is only a one star portrayal because the best view of her to the reader would be over the right shoulder, where we could see all of her. KO, carry, and bondage scenes should ALWAYS show as much of the sexy super heroine's beautiful body as possible.

It's great how the other guy says "Give her more Chloroform". Unlike anything you'll find in comics these days.

Not sure why, but this scene just keeps coming back as one of my favorites. Perhaps it's the fact that a non-powered villain has taken her down. And like I said before, I just love that "give her more chloroform" part ;)

I first commented on this scene nearly 2 years ago. Now, Bob, your recent comment has stirred me to again make a statement. Like you, for me, a super-heroine KO is much more enjoyable when the "villain" is an ordinary guy, not a superpowered villain. In commenting on a Yankee Girl KO on another page on this website I said: "And Yankee Girl was KO'd by a midget and an old bald-headed restaurant waiter and that makes it all the better." Yep, it sure does, can't exactly say why, but it sure does. You and I are on the same page, Bob!!

Maybe part of the reason this works for us, guys, is because we can more easily identify with "ordinary people" than we can with "super-powered villains". The 'plain joe' could be one of us . . . but Magneto the Magnificent we could never be.

Knockouts like this are great because they are more exciting (to me) when they are least expected. This is a good one for sure.

I have to say I love this scene. Wonder Woman confident as a superior Amazon in one panel and another panel struggling as she is being put to sleep. I would have liked a cradle carry of her. And it would have been epic to see them apply the cloth for the second time.
