Unconscious	3,594	This is a very very large category, mostly because the majority of the scenes on Sleepycomics.com involve...sleep! Scenes with this tag usually have a significant sleepy element to them. Good panels clearly showing the damsel sleeping, with her face and body clearly visible, warrant the usage of this tag.
Bondage	3,391	Who doesn't love some bondage? Sleepycomics.com hosts a very large database of comic book and manga bondage scenes. Bondage scenes involve the victim being restrained using artificial means. Ropes, chains and handcuffs are common methods used.
Chloroform	2,505	Chloroform scenes involve the assailant placing a cloth over the victim's nose and mouth. The cloth usually contains an anesthetic which renders the victim unconscious. Chloroform is a relatively popular KO method among sleepy and bondage fetish enthusiasts, and is featured prominently on Sleepycomics.com.
Head KO	1,722	This KO method is based on the idea that blunt force to the head can render a victim unconscious. There are many variations on the Head KO. A common method during the Golden Age of comics, was for the bad guy to use a device called a 'black jack'. Other methods include fists, gun butts and sword handles. It's even possible for a Head KO to be self inflicted. This is a very popular KO method on Sleepycomics.com.
Arm Carry	1,510	Arm carry scenes are very common on Sleepyycomics.com. It is usually paired with the 'unconscious' tag, making it an "unconscious arm carry". However, an arm carry can stand on its own. By definition, an arm carry involves a person using one or both arms to 'carry' the victim. Usually, the victim's feet should not touch the ground. An example would be a hero rescuing a damsel by carrying her away from a dangerous situation.
Gagged	1,499	Scenes with this tag involve the victim having their mouth (and or nose) covered with something to prevent them from making noise. Usually you will see cloth or tape being used here, but some comic writers get creative. It's quite common to see this tag paired with 'bondage'. It's rare to have a scene with the 'gagged' tag, but no 'bondage' tag. Finding a scene with a bound AND gagged damsel is difficult. They call it "giving her the full treatment" when such a scene is found.
Wake Up	1,325	Scenes with the 'wake up' tag involve multiple panels showing the victim transitioning from a state of sleep to a state of full alertness.
Sleeping Gas	1,306	'Gas' is short for either 'knockout gas' or 'sleeping gas', whichever term you prefer. It is a gentle KO method, involving the victim inhaling some sort of anesthetic gas. The gas should then put the victim to sleep. Some scenes may contain 'poison gas' or 'tear gas', which do not contain a sleepy element. Those scenes are rare. Gas scenes are fairly popular on Sleepycomics.com.
Physical KO	926	A broad category to use if you are not sure how the victim was knocked out, but you know it was through a hard physical means.
Faint	793	A 'faint' technically isn't a knockout. It involves a damsel suddenly falling asleep due to fear or exhaustion.
Peril	628	While many scenes on Sleepycomics.com involve some sort of peril, scenes labeled 'peril' contain a significant amount of it. Peril scenes usually involve a damsel shown in a dangerous situation. Bondage or knockouts don't have to be involved. For instance, a scene showing a damsel in a tank with rising water, can be classified as 'peril'.
Blast	579	'Blast' is a very broad category. It is one of the more violent KO methods. It usually involves a big explosion of some sort, and the victim is caught up in it. The victim is usually seen unconscious among the rubble. These kinds of scenes can be very chaotic.
OTS Carry	441	OTS carry is short for "over the shoulder" carry. They differ from arm carries, in that the person carrying the victim uses his shoulder for the main point of support. It is similar to a "fireman's carry". OTS carries have a significantly different look and feel to arm carries, which is why it has its own category.
Pinup	380	Pinups are fun! These are scenes which have really good artwork featuring a sexy woman. Despite not featuring any peril, pinups are actually an important part of making a scene truly complete. In order to appreciate the peril aspect, we must also appreciate her beauty.
Electric	375	Scenes tagged 'Electrical' usually involve the use of electricity to render a victim unconscious. The scene usually has a panel with lots of sparks flying everywhere.
Hand Gag	326	This is a variation on the 'gagged' category. Instead of using cloth or tape to silence a damsel, the assailant uses his hand.
Injection	303	This KO method involves an assailant injecting a sedative to the victim through the use of a syringe or other device.
Belly Punch	286	This is a more violent type of KO, that involves an assailant hitting the victim under the diaphragm. This causes the victim to "have the wind knocked out of her", usually rendering her unconscious. Originally a very rare KO method, it's growing in prevalence due to its usage in manga.
Dart	273	'Dart' is short for 'tranquilizer dart'. Scenes with this tag involve an assailant firing a dart-like projectile at the victim. The projectile usually contains a sedative that renders the victim unconscious upon contact. This is a subset of 'injection' scenes.
Drugged Drink	241	This is a subset of the "drugging" category. Scenes with this tag specifically involve the the victim drinking a liquid with a sleeping drug placed in it. Common drinks of choice include coffee and tea. This method is very common in H-manga.
Drugging	227	'Drugging' KO scenes involve the victim being rendered unconscious through a pharmaceutical drug. An example would be a victim eating a plate of food that has been spiked with a sleeping drug. A popular subset of this category is the "drugged drink".
Unknown	194	If a scene has this tag, it means we don't know how the victim got knocked out.
Hypnosis	163	Hypnosis can be a whole fetish on its own! It basically involves putting a victim to sleep based on hypnotic suggestion. Sometimes the victims are placed into a trance like state, where they seem awake.

Neck Chop	142	This is when the assailant uses the blade of his hand to hit the victim's neck area. This impact force supposedly knocks the victim unconscious.
Drowning	132	Nothing fancy here. The victim is rendered unconscious because they were underwater. Some scenes with this tag may not actually show a KO. In that case, it's because there is 'drowning peril'.
Sleeper Hold	112	This is named after the wrestling move. It's a kind of suffocation KO. It involves the assailant wrapping his/her arm around the victim's neck, restricting the victim's airflow. This causes the victim to "go to sleep".
Psychic	111	This KO method involves rendering someone unconscious via mind control forces.
Suffocation	106	This type of KO involves rendering a victim unconscious by restricting their breathing somehow.
Energy Drain	103	A unique KO method where the victim has their strength drained, causing them to faint.
Gas Mask	94	'Gas Mask' scenes are a subset of 'Gas' scenes. They involve the use of a medical gas mask to render the victim unconscious. These scenes are quite rare.
Stun Gun	83	This is a type of electrical KO, involving the use of a Taser or weapon which fires an electrical pulse.
Nerve Pinch	57	This is a KO method that isn't seen very often anymore. It was popularized on the TV show 'Star Trek'. It involves pinching a specific location on the body, which triggers a 'sleep' nerve. This action can render a victim unconscious.
Syringe	55	This type of scene involves a damsel becoming fearful at the sight of a syringe. It's a type of peril scene.
Sleep Dust	35	This type of KO is a variation on the 'gas' KO. Instead of using anesthetic gas, a powdery substance is used to render a victim unconscious. It's a very rare type of KO. Wonder Woman #300 has a good example of this.
Paralysis	29	Not a real KO scene. This type of scene involves the victim being rendered immobile somehow.

Petrification	9	Not a common category on Sleepycomics.com, but it does have a fetish subculture elsewhere. These scenes involve the victim being turned to stone, or some other solid material.
