At first, we see Mary Jane Watson appearing as a guest on a news show, where she expresses her support for Krakoa’s pharmacy system. After finishing the interview, she returns to her aunt’s house. It’s raining heavily outside as they chat about what happened on TV while walking into the house. Later, MJ takes her aunt to bed and heads downstairs, intending to spend some time alone.

As she descends the stairs, she’s startled by an unexpected voice coming from the living room. The red-haired girl immediately goes on the defensive and demands that the uninvited guest leave the house. The unknown figure, having seen her on the news, suddenly grabs MJ’s wrist before she can react, causing her to gasp in pain.

The stalker intensifies the situation by shushing Mary Jane as if she were a frightened kitten and mocking her by bringing up her aunt. Furious, MJ shouts at the figure to get out. But before she can say more, the intruder appears behind her in an instant. Terrified and stressed, MJ lowers her voice and, with a quiet plea, adds the word, “please.”

Ignoring her fear, the stalker declares that it’s there to take her invitation to the Hellfire Gala. Without warning, it locks its robotic arm around MJ’s neck in a loose sleeper hold—perhaps to prevent her from passing out before it’s finished toying with her. The figure then demands that Mary Jane ask a specific question. MJ, her face filled with fear and helplessness, has no choice but to comply. Trembling, she asks the question the stalker wants: “Who are you wearing?”

The intruder is then revealed to be Moira MacTaggert. With a cold smile, Moira responds by saying she’ll be “wearing” MJ when she wakes up. Moments later, she puts the terrified woman to sleep.

Later, in another comic, we learn Mary Jane’s fate after the incident. She’s shown lying unconscious inside a pod, presumably after having been stripped of her clothes and dressed for the Hellfire Gala. Moira makes it clear to her associates that she views MJ as nothing more than a “meat puppet.” She explains that she kept her robotic arm around MJ’s neck to maintain control, in case the woman disobeyed her at the Gala.
