I always thought she had a great looking costume, but she debutted just before and during the time the Comic Book Code made its entrance upon the scene, so her career was short-lived and what there was had precious little DID scenarios in the storyline. Wish she had appeared 10 years earlier, we'd really have something then, I have no doubt.
Amazing . . . 7 months later someone responds to my comment. But, truthfully, that is how it is on Sleepycomics.com. I've even seen responses two years after the previous post. So what about the costume? I can't really pretend to be an insider to the Code people of the time (1954) but the fact that the costume is skin tight seems to be the obvious objection. Remember, the main premise of Frederick Wertham's book "The Seduction of the Innocent" was that "sexy comic books sexually seduced young comic book readers (i.e., 12, 13 and 14 year olds). My guess is that it was simply her sexually suggestive skin tight costume, and the fact that she did have a couple of KO scenes and bondage scenes in other issues. The code was far, far too strict and it effectively curtailed the careers of Sheena and nearly all other jungle girls as well. Wonder Woman and Supergirl survived, but in a highly toned down format.
