Phantom Lady appeared in Police Comics from issue #1 to #23, when she was discontinued. In this story in issue #22 she is allowed to go along for a test ride on a new experimental submarine being examined by the Navy. A sabateur is on board and tries to destroy the vessel. When he is discovered by Phantom Lady he gasses the crew and Phantom Lady as well. As she slumps to the floor the sabateur then tries to strangle her. She rallies and kicks him in the crotch, gives herself some oxygen, and fully revived gives him the finishing touches, thus saving the submarine and its crew.
