Fiction House was notorious for this. They did it with Sheena, Tiger Girl and Camilla. They gave us abundant KO's and unconscious pics but often diminished by way, way too many partial body shots. And in this sequence we are even denied the shot of her hitting her head -- we have to imagine it. Almost great, time after time, but not quite. What a shame.
It's worth remembering the time constraints under which these comics were produced ..the SAME group of artits, inkers, letterers, colorers, etc had to produce six books a month EVERY month..they often didn't have the time to linger over individual panels..it would slow down the assembly line..
All things considered, it's a miracle they produced as much memorable stuff as they did!
Would a full body shot have taken more time to do than a partial? I don't see how. What they lacked was a full grasp of what their readers wanted, though they did understand it somewhat, just not well enough. My concept, anyway??!
