Woman in Red appeared in Thrilling Comics from #2 in 1940 and continued without interruption to #38 when she was discontinued. Her floor length red cloak kept us from seeing how sexy she might be, but she had many adventures in which she was KO'd, arm carried and tied up. Her early pre-WWII origin may make her the first masked super-heroine to appear in comic books. In this issue some archeologists discover a book and a map about an ancient Hindu temple which may hide a million dollar treasure. A secret cell of Hindu hit-men track the archeologists down and kill one of them looking to retrieve the map. Woman in Red gets on their trail and hunts them down, but is knocked out. One of the archeologists discovers her and helps revive her. The two of them then tackle the Hindu baddies and overcome them. However, Woman in Red suspects the man who helped her also killed another one of the archeologists in his effort to have the treasure all for himself. She decides her hunch is right when she accuses the man, and he pulls a knife on her. She knocks him out and hands him over with the Hindu's to the police. Good story, just wish more of her sexy body and legs were available for viewing.
