Woman in Red in Thrilling #12 choked, KO'd, waking

Woman in Red appeared in nearly 40 issues of Thrilling Comics beginning with #2. Her full length red cloak prevented readers from enjoying her great set of legs hiding underneath. She had no superpowers, and was an undercover policewoman for the local law-enforcement agency. Her early origin in summer of 1940 may make her the very first masked, female superheroine to appear on the scene. In this episode a young man is murdered by his cousin as part of a scheme to eliminate all heirs to a secret fortune in gold and jewels found in a cave beneath an elderly uncle's house. Woman in Red is sent as an undercover police woman to gather clues to the mystery. She enters the secret cave, which is below the mansion of the elderly uncle. In the cave she is grabbed, manhandled, clubbed, choked by the greedy murderous nephew, (disquised as the ghost of a long dead sea-pirate who is rumored to haunt the cave) -- all in an effort to eliminate anyone who might learn about the secret fortune recently discovered in the cave. Eventually the elderly uncle enters the cave and rescues the Woman in Red by shooting her assailant (his nephew) who has overpowered her and is about to finish her off. I love her limited powers, which make her so vulnerable to being manhandled and ko'd. However, I wish her costume was more revealing than it is because she has great legs we rarely get to enjoy.
