Batman - "The Bookworm Turns"

Lydia Limpet, a henchwoman of The Bookworm is bound and gagged. Batman needs to leave, so he gasses her to sleep.

In the following scene, she's awake and Robin is looking after her. She tricks Robin into taking a book from the shelf and opening it. When Robin opens the book, sleeping gas comes out and knocks him out.
