JC rescues an Amazon girl who gratefully takes him back to her city. But the Amazons want to keep him, so Dejah Thoris has to come and rescue him. She is wounded near the end, but luckily is revived by the local Goddess. This should have been a classic, but - apart from the cover - it didn't work for me.
