May update

Hmm, looks like my laziness is causing this blog to become a once a month affair. Sorry about that! Lately so many things have been going on. I've had final exams, homework, juggling shows, video games , rock concerts and even a little romance .

I'm starting to play this RPG called Neverwinter Nights. It's kind of an old game. I really liked Oblivion so this game is kind of similar.

Anyway, I updated the site with some great KO scenes. I won't go into detail about the update in my blog, just visit the database. Oh and I added a cover scan to the European photo gallery.
Recently I was at a rock concert and I met a girl there that I kind of liked. I don't like to use real names, so I'll just call her M.E. We watched the band perform and then walked back together. We chat online frequently. I took her out to an imrpov comedy show the other night. She's pretty cute too! Probably won't see her too much over summer because I'll be working, but I'll definitely try to hang out with her more next semester. Things are looking up.

Batman and Nightwing Deliver

May 12, 2008 11:35 PM | 1
I updated the database with some new scenes. I also added one photo each to the Miscellaneous and European photo galleries.

Recent issues of Nightwing #138 and Batman #670 had multiple KO's of the same three damsels: Tiger Moth, Silken Spider and Dragonfly. All three get gassed twice and knocked out with poison darts. It was an interesting find indeed.

There also happens to be a great KO (and unconscious shot) of Sue Storm from Secret Invasion #1. It's been a good month for comic KO's!

Digital Art

May 18, 2008 08:36 PM | 1
I recently learned how to digitally color art. Here are some of my recent works:

The rightmost one is the newest, and is the best. I didn't draw the sketches though. Those were done by an artist named Animeeny. I just took the sketches and colored them. I used GIMP to do my work. It's a free alternative to Photoshop and has plenty of functionality.

For the first drawing all I did was upload the penciled sketch, play around with the color levels until the lines looked dark enough and then filled in the colors. As you can see, it looks terrible.

The other three drawings took a lot more time. I had to go over the original sketch with a path tool to obtain a very clean line art. I then filled the colors in. It can be a very long process; the last drawing took about 6 hours to finish. Despite all the hard work, I actually enjoy this. When I'm working on a drawing, it almost feels like I am tying the damsel up in a way.

If I have time, I plan to color more of Animeeny's artwork.

Digital Art Improving

May 21, 2008 11:51 PM | 0
Here is my latest CG artwork, from a sketch by Animeeny. As you can see, I have mastered the art of cell shading. This piece is my favorite so far!

The main improvements were in the line art, shading and eyes. I made the lines thicker and varied the width. I used the path tool to make the shades solid. I also learned how to make the eyes better.

I want to do one of his chloro pics, but those will take a lot longer. This piece took about six hours.

Lady Blackhawk Chloroformed

May 26, 2008 10:54 AM | 0
I'm back! I have a new piece of artwork. This one has Lady Blackhawk getting chloroformed, in a re-imagining of Blackhawk #133's cover. I spent about 6 hours working on this, and boy was it worth it. I think it looks incredible. This is also the first time I used Adobe Photoshop.

I've always wanted to learn how to draw because I thought it was a way I could make my fantasies come true. But with computers, I can fabricate realities with only minimal artistic skill.

Here is the picture on my Deviant Art page.
