Does this smell like....

Alright, so I was with some people I know and they were joking around about airport security or whatever. Then out of no where one of them says "hey, does this smell like chloroform to you?". The other guys just laughed. I was like right there sort of laughing to myself. I think it sounds really weird when someone verbally says the word 'chloroform'. Like I seriously get cringes when I hear the word being spoken. It might be a subconscious thing, where my mind thinks these people are making fun of me. Sometimes, I have a feeling people know about my fascination but I am certain that is impossible.

I wonder what people would think if only they knew the truth.

Anyway, where did the catch phrase "does this smell like chloroform to you?" come from? It is used in forum signatures all over the net. Just goto deviantart and search for chloroform, you'll find the phrase everywhere. What is so funny or catchy about it? It is overused and becoming very annoying. Just goes to show you that beyond this subculture, chloroform is one big joke.

I'm not sure where the phrase came from but I can tell you that the joke is based on lureing a pretty nieve woman to be put to sleep[I love that phrase] by inviting her to identify the mystery of what is on the cloth .Kind of like a woman jokingly asking you how you get your dates?CHLOROFORM?Ya.Very funny.I have used it before in front of female friends by saying"I though I was going to have a date but I did'nt have a cloth or Chloroform. But don't say this until you are comfortable with your female friends. If they look at you strangely don't bring it up again.I take the time to write this because I know what you mean and you have an incredible site!

Yeah I would never say the C-word in public ever. It just makes me feel uncomfortable inside. But yeah, it's funny to make inside jokes about our fascinations. People have like no idea!
